Relational Communication
When we talk about communication, it's often based on the relationship or the roles people are in instead of the individual. We often see classes about marital and family communication or blog posts about how to talk to you boss. All of these approaches have much to offer, but I wanted to do something a little different. This class isn't about the other person or even about the relationship. It's about you.
In this class you'll learn:
How the patterns of communication in your family of origin (the family in which you grew up) affect your approach to conversations with others now.
The importance of your value system when it comes to communication.
How to practice respect, grace, and compassion in communication.
Why boundaries are so important when it comes to talking with others and how to implement them.
The differences between empathy and sympathy in communication and why one offers connection and the other doesn't.
Active listening skills.
And more.
Along with this two-part series, you'll also receive a workbook that will follow the class material and help you work through it at your own pace.
